The New Reality: Nov. 4
Description
November 4, 2023
Alberta, Canada’s oil and gas capital, was in the midst of a quiet renewable energy transformation, investing billions to capitalize on the province’s plentiful sunshine and wind gusts. But as political tides turn in the province, the region’s renewable energy revolution could be in jeopardy. On this week’s episode of The New Reality, Heather Yourex-West takes an inside look at how the green energy boom is impacting locals in the region and explores how the climate for renewable investment is changing rapidly. Plus, for many of us, our first introduction to puppetry came through children’s programming like Sesame Street and The Muppets. But this timeless art form is more than child’s play. Puppetry is having a moment. From Broadway hits to popular TV shows and movies, puppets are taking centre stage. As Mark Carcasole discovered, it’s also being used as a platform for social and political commentary, reinventing itself by fusing tradition with technology.
